Roman Teshome PhD Candidate at ACIL
Roman Girma Teshome will join the ACIL as of September as a PHD Researcher working on a project about development-induced displacement.
Roman received a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree from Addis Ababa University and an LLM in Human Rights from Central European University with distinction. Before joining the University of Amsterdam, Roman has taught various law courses in a couple of universities in Ethiopia. She was also a Google Policy Fellow at ITS Rio in Brazil.
Roman will be carrying out research on the perils of development-induced displacement from the perspective of international human rights law, particularly focusing on the context of Africa. Roman’s research interest extends to various fields of international law, including human rights law, law and development, international humanitarian law and digital rights.
