Shared Responsibility in International Law (SHARES)

This project examines the allocation of responsibilities among multiple international actors and will offer concepts, principles and perspectives for understanding how the international legal order may deal with shared responsibilities.

This five-year project seeks to uncover the nature and extent of the problem of sharing responsibility in an increasingly interdependent and heterogeneous international legal order. It will offer new concepts, principles and perspectives for understanding how the international legal order may deal with shared responsibilities. Project leader is André Nollkaemper. The project started on 1 May 2010. The project is funded by the European Research Council (ERC).
