The War Reparations Centre studies remedies for violations of international humanitarian and human rights law during armed conflict. It analyses the legal means available to war victims who seek access to justice to obtain a remedy in the form of reparation, restitution or compensation.
The War Reparations Centre was established in 2014 at the University of Amsterdam. It is directed by Prof. Liesbeth Zegveld who holds the chair of War Reparations at the University of Amsterdam. It is part of an international network of academics, lawyers and victim organizations concerned with the enforcement of the right to effective access to justice and adequate, effective and prompt reparation for conflict related harm.
