Kevin Jon Heller Associate Professor Public International Law
On April 1, Kevin Jon Heller has started as Associate Professor of Public International Law.
Kevin holds a PhD in law from Leiden University and a JD with distinction from Stanford Law School. Prior to April 1, Kevin was Professor of Criminal Law at SOAS, University of London, where he remains Visiting Professor.
His books include The Nuremberg Military Tribunals and the Origins of International Criminal Law (OUP, 2011); The Hidden Histories of War Crimes Trials (OUP, 2013) (edited with Gerry Simpson). He is currently writing a book entitled A Genealogy of International Criminal Law and co-editing the Oxford Handbook of International Criminal Law, both of which will be published by OUP in 2018. He is a permanent member of the world’s oldest international-law blog, Opinio Juris.
Kevin will take over part of the tasks that Andre Nollkaemper fulfilled prior to his deanship; he will teach courses in the Master's programme Public International Law, and also will be involved in the Amsterdam International Law Clinic.
