Michael Zürn is the Director of the research unit "Global Governance" at the Berlin Social Science Center (WZB) and Professor of International Relations at the Free University Berlin, positions he had held since 2004. He obtained his PhD on the topic of Game theory, functionalism and international politics at the Faculty of Social and Behavioral Sciences, University of Tübingen and has published extenstively on international institutions and international authority, amongst other areas. Between 2004-2009 he was also the Founding Dean of the Hertie School of Governance, Berlin.
