The Speaker

Since 2004 Xabier Agirre is heading the analysis unit of the Office of the Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court. Before joining the ICC, Xabier Agirre was senior analyst at the Investigations Division of the Office of the Prosecutor of the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia (ICTY) (1997-2004), in charge of analysis of evidence of alleged international crimes (war crimes, crimes against humanity, genocide). Agirre has written extensively about a variety of topics including the methodology for the investigation of international crimes, case selection, the use of pattern evidence and the investigation of sexual crimes. Xabier Agirre will speak about the reality of investigations and the latest decisions and developments in investigations.
