Debadatta Bose is a PhD candidate at ACIL and CSECL, operating within the Sustainable Global Economic Law project, which is a joint initiative of ACIL, ACELG and CSECL. Debadatta’s research mainly looks into the interaction of public and private international law in making global value chains accountable for human rights abuses. It covers both International and EU Law on the subject.

Apart from Business and Human Rights, Debadatta remains interested in Third World Approaches to International Law and Public International Law in general.

He completed his LL.M. (cum laude) in International and European Law from Erasmus University Rotterdam where he placed first in the International Law track. Prior to his LL.M., he completed a 5 year dual degree of B.A. and LL.B. (Honours) from Damodaram Sanjivayya National Law University in India, also ranking first rank of his cohort and receiving several certificates of excellence. With his long-standing interest in corporate and international law, he completed internships with barristers and top law firms in India as well with the Indian Ministry of External Affairs. He has also been involved in legislative drafting and reform of legal education in India.
