Andreas has studied in Freiburg, Geneva, Berlin and New York, holds a doctorate and a Habilitation from the University of Tübingen and has been a visiting fellow at the Lauterpacht Centre for International Law, the European University Institute and NYU School of Law. He is an active Member of the International Law Association and has been a Member of the Study Group on "Contents and Evolution of the Rules of Interpretation in International Law" and is currently a Member of the Committee on "Submarine Cables and Pipelines under International Law". He has also advised and represented states before various international courts and tribunals. His research interests span various areas of public international law, including international adjudication, general international law, international economic law and human rights. He currently works mostly on the intersection of general international law and international investment law, corporate influence on international legal norm-setting and the concept of abuses of international law.
