María Moreno Sancho has joined ACIL as a visiting research fellow. She is a postdoctoral research fellow from Complutense University of Madrid, where she recently obtained her PhD. Her research concerns International Trade Law.

At ACIL, María will focus on recent trade-restrictive legislation enacted, on the basis of labour and environmental protection in exporting countries, by main Members of the World Trade Organization (WTO), including the United States and the European Union.

She holds an LL.M. in European Union Law from Ghent University; an LL.M in International Law from Complutense University, where she previously obtained her Licentiate in Law; and B.A. in Political Science from Old Dominion University, Virginia. She has worked as a Trade Policy Analyst for Global Trade Alert, an initiative of St. Gallen University; and conducted internships at the at the EU Permanent Mission to the WTO, and the WTO Trade Policy Review Division.
