Do you think your work is eligible for the Faculty Award for Best Publication 2025 for Young Researchers? Then send a digital version of your publication by 18 February 2026. The Faculty Prize for the best publication consists of a cash prize of €1.000,- for research activities.

For more than 10 times in a row, the annual prize for the best publication of the academic year will be awarded to a young faculty researcher. The goal of the prize is to strengthen and support the research culture within the Amsterdam Law School and to give young researchers publicity for their work. The prize consists of an amount of €1.000,- to be used for research activities.

The following conditions apply: 

  • the applicant is currently a PhD candidate or has received his/her PhD less than five years ago. The base date for this rule is 1 January 2026*;
  • the work submitted should be a published paper (books are not allowed) and only one paper per author can be submitted;
  • the publication must have been published between 1 January 2025 and 31 December 2025.

All submissions will be judged by a jury consisting of 3 experts. They will assess the scientific originality, thoroughness, and the ‘cross-border nature’ of the publication.

*In the case of care responsibilities, pregnancy or illness it is possible to receive an extension to the number of years after the PhD graduation. Please check the prize regulations.
